There’s a small town in the Nevada desert about sixty miles west of Las Vegas called Pahrump. Not a hub of tourist activity, most people have never even heard of it, let alone been there. A few hotels and casinos spot the night skyline, but it’s what resides on the outskirts of Pahrump that had Green Sky traveling there this past December. Nestled in the Rockies is a gem of a raceway named Spring Mountain, home of the new Cadillac V Academy.
We were commissioned to make a short video introducing the Cadillac V Academy at Spring Mountain, while also showcasing the beautiful landscape of the track. We were also lucky enough to be able to test out some new equipment on this shoot. As always, we had our 5d Mk ii and 7d with us, but we had a chance to use the 5d Mk iii, as well as some Zeiss glass. To round it all off we used a jib to get some brilliant looking crane shots. Throw in some sweet effects rendered in post, we created a pretty awesome final product (it doesn’t hurt that the cars look amazing to start with).
